Snow Canyon State Park Elopement | St. George, Utah Wedding Photographer

Jennifer + Chris’s Intimate Elopement in Snow Canyon State Park

Snow Canyon, near St. George Utah, is one of the most beautiful places and if you are looking for a beautiful outdoor location to get married, put this place on your “Utah Wedding Location Ideas” list. We visit at least once a year, especially in the winter because it’s not as cold as Norther Utah. One of the most magical experiences I’ve had was standing on top of the Petrified Sand Dunes in January, above the clouds, with views of red rocks, cliffs, and lava rock. Stunning and serene are the two words that come to mind—two words that are so fitting for an elopement or intimate wedding with your favorite people.

Jennifer and Chris’s elopement started outside of the park at an overlook just at the top of Snow Canyon. It was a quiet day, the stillness of nature creating a peaceful and calm atmosphere. A bird hovered nearby in the middle of the ceremony. Since this was Jen and Chris’s first trip to Snow Canyon, I was dying to show them around. After the ceremony we wandered down to the Petrified Sand Dunes where they shared a first dance, and then heading down to the regular sand dunes for the second part of our shoot. The colors and scenery at this place are unreal, so not only do you have a beautiful wedding day, you also get to experience some of the best nature has to offer in the desert near St. George.
