Unique Lifestyle Photography Using Black and White Film

If you’ve landed here in my small corner on the internet, I’m assuming that you’ve got a preference for family and wedding pictures that are unique and artistic. You may even be an artist yourself. I understand how hard it is to find a photographer that has a vibe you are looking for, that uses light in a unique way, that not only documents you and your loved ones, but leaves you with photos at the end that could make a fine art album for your coffee table or be custom art for your walls. Having art on your walls is great, but combining art and your family photo session is even better, and it makes the art that is on your wall that much more meaningful.

This family session in downtown Salt Lake City was a dream. It was so beautiful to see how much Kailee and Jaron were in love with their babies and how much safety their babies found in being with them. There is magic that you feel walking through a family’s space that they have created for themselves to hold their family, to create in, to weave memories together and it’s always a joy to create photos within that space. We ended our session with some photos for Kailee, who is an INCREDIBLE painter. One of my favorite pieces of hers (which I have in my bedroom) is Mother and Child (linked HERE, also, be sure to check out her other beautiful pieces). I threw in a little black and white film throughout the session and am wishing I brought more rolls for the art studio photos. Bonus points if you can pick them out.
